Houses, Houses, Houses

Sheri made a last minute decision to fly to Atlanta to look at more houses...Metro Brokers has a couple of billboards that list the number of houses currently on the market...There are currently 105,000 houses for sale in Atlanta...we haven't see all of them but we've seen most...

Here are a few that we looked at this weekend...but first...here are some helpful hints (from people who know) if you decide to put your house on the market:

Here are the don'ts:

1. Don't leave dirty (skid marked) underwear on the floor...it can take away from the ambiance of the rest of the house...
2. Don't let your dog run around - some potential buyers frown on dogs trying to mate with their legs.
3. Don't wear a spaghetti strap shirt without a bra if you are going to be walking around the house when a potential buyer is looking at your home...especially if your houses have begun to settle...if you know what I mean...

Here are a few dos:

1. Flush all toilets...twice if needed...
2. Vacuum your rugs...
3. Clean up all dog poop prior to potential buyers walking in your house - it would be a shame if they slipped on your dog's presents...

After house hunting on Thursday we went to Old Roswell to "Live After Five"...a nice area of Roswell where there are sidewalk restaurants, bands playing music - it's a great place to people watch...

Moving Observations from ME!

There is no such thing as a Garage Sale - it is a mythical event that is used by women to trick men into not throwing out junk that should have been thrown out years ago!!!!

Bob Barker should have ended "The Price is Right" by saying, "And remember to spay and neuter your shoes to control the shoe population!!!" Maybe then we wouldn't have 100 pairs of female shoes in our closets...I know the shoes have been mating because so many of them look exactly, exactly, exactly the same!!! Here's a little secret for women who are trying to impress men with shoes...WE DON'T NOTICE YOUR SHOES!!!! Sorry, we just don't...the last place we look at when we are admiring a woman is at her feet!!! There - the secrets out... ;-)

Beach stuff...pails, shovels, tubes, chairs, sun screen - should be left at the beach - give them to a needy family on the beach. It will save your husband from carrying them back to the car, it will make someone happy, and three garbage bags won't have to be wasted when your husband is cleaning out the garage...!!!

My weekend wardrobe consists of one pair of jeans and one shirt - when the weekend is over I stand them in the corner until the next weekend - if I was president I would limit women to one outfit each! I could clothe a small, third world nation with all the clothes I have bagged up over this weekend...when I was growing up my mom used to tell me "There are starving people in Ethiopia - you need to eat your dinner" I never understood this but here is a better thing to say when a woman is about to buy clothes..."There are naked people in Africa - instead of buying that outfit for you - don't you think a person in Africa needs it more than you?"

A Week in Review

This has been an extremely busy week for me...it started out with a busy week at work - I have been given additional responsibilities at work...which is good and bad. It's good because it keeps my mind occupied learning new things...bad because it cuts into my social time. I met and talked to several old friends this week - I love talking to and spending time with my friends...I have been so lucky in my life to have so many great friends!!!

Here's my office...where decisions which change the world are made...

My week was also spent looking at more houses (I think I'm up to 60 houses and counting)...there's Becky (my Real Estate Agent)...she's very good and patient. I never realized how hard Real Estate Agents worked until I started looking for a house...I run her ragged but she doesn't seem to mind. I'm hoping we will find a house within the next couple of weeks. We've found a nice neighborhood which would work out perfectly but we haven't found a house we BOTH like (that's my fault...I'm a little picky)...

I leave every Friday to go home. This week my plane was supposed to leave at 4:45 p.m. but because of bad weather we didn't take off until about 5:30 p.m. It was a bumpy ride home...but we made it...
On Saturday Cam had baseball practice...he was crushing the ball!! I am very proud of him!

On Saturday Kelsie had an all day volley ball tournament - she is excellent - I am also proud of her - she is a Daddy's girl!!!!

The majority of the weekend has and will be spent on cleaning the house. It's been a very big job...I guess I should have already cleaned it between the time we bought it and now ;-) ...
Just to make myself feel better I have included pictures of the rooms that are "done" (at least until the kids get to them)...

To keep me from getting too comfortable with our progress...the next picture is a good reminder that there is still a lot of work to do...
Sheri...forgive me for what I will be doing with all these things that have been sitting in our basement since we moved in...yes, the horse is...um...nice...but it's time to put her to sleep...and all the clothes for the "garage sale" well...sorry...oh yea, and the "desk"...it will never see another student's bottom...there are several other items that will never see the light of day again...forgive me...but I have to do what I have to do to fit your car in the garage.

I also came across some interesting stuff that I haven't seen in a long time. Here are a couple of drawings from my "Figure Drawing" class - when I was going to be a Commercial Artist.
Since it was a figure drawing class most of the drawings were of naked men and woman...sounds exciting doesn't it...not really...most of the models were over 85 years old..."excuse me miss, can you move your left boob...I'm about to draw your belly button...thank you" ;-)
